Dr. John B. Duff, Columbia College Chicago’s 8th president, passed away early this week at age 82. During his term spanning from 1992 to 2000, he supervised the building of the Harold Washington Library, broadened local and national awareness of the College, established the college’s first co-ed dorm, and changed “Columbia College” to “Columbia College Chicago”. Those are just a few of his accomplishments during his time with Columbia College. Without his efforts, Columbia would not be the college it is today.
A memorial tribute fund has been set up by Dr. Duff’s family:
“In memory of Dr. John Duff”
Five Star/Alzheimer’s Fund
